In athletic patients, the autologous fat tissue around the breast is often relatively thin, which is why an implant should be placed submuscularly (under the pectoral muscle) or dual plane (half under the pectoral muscle).
Placement above the muscle in slim women, on the other hand, often results in the implant edges being clearly and unattractively visible.
There are many reports on the internet that, especially in athletes, placing implants under the muscle can lead to unattractive movement of the breast when the muscles are tensed. This is not the case if the operation is performed correctly.

To ensure that the implants integrate well and the scar can heal properly, sports such as kite surfing, CrossFit or weight training, where the pectoral muscle is under a lot of strain, should not be practiced for a longer period of time. We are happy to provide sport-specific information during a consultation.
For patients who are enthusiastic about sports and do not want to give up their sporting activities for longer than normal, we offer a special technique in which the implants are additionally fixed by inserting a matrix.
