Clinics and doctors from abroad are advertising intensively and with low prices to attract customers from Switzerland. In some cases, the offers are combined with an "all-inclusive" wellness vacation.

A breast augmentation abroad should be carefully considered for various reasons, as there are various sources of error in breast surgery:

• It happens that cheap implants are inserted, which often lead to damage to the surrounding tissue;
• The implant is not the right shape or is placed incorrectly
• The surgeon cuts in the wrong place or makes the pocket too large
• Too much skin is removed during the tightening procedure

There are many self-proclaimed specialists in cosmetic surgery in Germany and abroad without any recognized training. If a patient is not satisfied with the result and visits another doctor in Switzerland, these costs must be paid out of their own pocket. Only in the case of medical complications (e.g. infection, post-operative bleeding, capsular fibrosis) can the health insurance company be expected to contribute to the costs, provided the treatment takes place in Switzerland. It becomes really difficult when something goes seriously wrong. Having to sue for your rights in the country of treatment is very time-consuming and expensive.
