Being a woman is sometimes not easy and in this case you can take this statement literally. Our body is a true marvel and totally complex in its functions, but we all have our weak points somewhere and breasts are not always exempt from this. Large breasts in particular can cause various ailments and not only affect us mentally, but also physically.
When people talk about breast surgery in the context of cosmetic surgery, it is always in terms of shape, size and psychological distress, but behind these reasons there are often other little things that can also lead to a great deal of discomfort.
Large breasts have a natural tendency to connect with gravity and this often results in the lower quadrant of the breast being in constant skin-to-skin contact. In the cooler seasons this is not a problem, but this can quickly change as temperatures rise. Moist skin should always be avoided, but in this case this is virtually impossible and easier said than done.
The constantly damp climate on these areas of skin can quickly lead to undesirable skin changes that can cause severe itching and even smell unpleasant.
This taboo side effect of large breasts is a fungal infection. Candidiasis of the skin is an inflammatory reaction caused by yeast fungi (predominantly Candida albicans), according to medical reports.
Wearing tight underwear, bras or other clothing that keeps sweat close to the body promotes the development of this and also makes it difficult to get rid of the unwanted companion quickly.
A fungal infection can cause redness, rashes, itching, swelling and, in the case of a severe infection, an unpleasant odor. These symptoms can often be very distressing for those affected.
A skin fungus is caused by microorganisms that feed on the horny substance of the skin. Skin fungus can also develop on healthy skin.
In moist and warm areas, such as the underbust fold, skin fungal pathogens can multiply better and penetrate the softened skin more easily.
I have tried a few home remedies in recent years and am happy to share my experiences with you, but it is always important to see a doctor!
I am aware that this can feel uncomfortable - I would definitely prefer to show a sprained finger, because I often have trouble telling such problems to a stranger. However, my doctor assured me that this type of skin fungus is absolutely not uncommon and in this case has nothing to do with hygiene, so I was able to leave my unnecessary shame in the waiting room.
Of course, you can, as I have already done, first resort to the good old home remedies and treat the fungus with them, as long as the symptoms are limited. A tried and tested home remedy is apple cider vinegar. Thanks to its many ingredients, it is a reliable helper. For large affected areas, you can also add 1 liter of apple cider vinegar to the bath water and enjoy the itch-reducing effect for at least 15 minutes.
Another tried-and-tested remedy in the fight against germs and fungi is tea tree oil. It is applied to the affected areas of skin twice a day without drying and allowed to take effect. Understandably, the strong scent is not particularly popular, as it is often perceived as very penetrating. If your nose gives this household remedy the red card, you can also use a lavender oil as an alternative. This fragrance is also not necessarily discreet, but is often more popular than the first option. Thanks to the more than 200 different ingredients, lavender oil can be used over a long period of time and again and again, as no resistance develops.
An almost odorless and very nourishing home remedy is pure coconut oil. It helps specifically against severe itching and also nourishes the stressed skin like a rich care cream.
There is good news for garlic lovers at this point: adding plenty of it to food can have a preventative effect.
In general, it is important to keep the affected areas of skin as dry as possible and to wear breathable clothing. This should be washed at 60 degrees to safely remove fungal spores. During the treatment period, you should avoid steam baths and saunas and never give in to itching or scratching. To strengthen the skin barrier, it is worth using pH-neutral care products.
In any case, however, a visit to the doctor is mandatory if the fungus does not disappear despite consistent treatment over several weeks.
