Bottoming out means that the breast implants sag and slide down too low. This causes the nipple to rise too high.
The cause is insufficient fixation of the breast fold during the operation.
Correction with fixation of the breast fold and reinforcement with an absorbable mesh is required. After the operation, both breasts are symmetrical and the nipple is correctly positioned.
A patient who underwent treatment at Breast Atelier – had the implant inserted under the muscle during breast augmentation in a Swiss clinic. After the operation, a double fold was created, a so-called double bubble. This fold was caused by an incorrect ablation of the pectoral muscle.
The corrective procedure involves revising the muscle and compensating for the double fold with lipofilling. After the operation, both breasts have the same symmetrical and round shape.
If you are thinking about having aesthetic breast surgery, you should be careful when it comes to bargain offers. Whether it is a lack of experience on the part of the surgeon, incorrect surgical techniques or even an operation under local anaesthesia: in order to be able to offer favorable prices, compromises must be made. In principle, it can be assumed that well-trained and experienced specialists with an FMH diploma in plastic-reconstructive and aesthetic surgery do not offer serious medical treatments with high-quality materials at dumping prices. Caution is therefore always advised with cheap offers, especially abroad.
Before deciding to have breast surgery, you should have a detailed, individual consultation to find out about all aspects of the operation, including the risks. We advise against local anesthesia. Also check who is performing the operation and whether trained anaesthesia staff are present during the procedure.
An operation abroad also carries the risk that you will have to find a new doctor in the event of subsequent complications and may incur additional costs. So don't make any hasty decisions and take your time when making your decision. If in doubt, get a second opinion and compare the cost estimates and the services they include.
As a general rule, subsequent corrective procedures are more complex and require a great deal of expertise and experience. It is therefore advisable to have the first operation carried out by a professional in order to avoid corrections as far as possible. Remember before every operation: it's about your body. It should be worth it to you to give it the best possible treatment.
For patients who have already undergone breast augmentation and are dissatisfied with the result, a 3D simulation can be used in many cases to determine exactly what breast volume is present and where asymmetries exist. This information is important for the precise planning of a breast correction.
Unfortunately, the question of replacing the implants or a corrective procedure often arises after non-specialist operations at home and abroad.
We are one of the few providers in the Zurich area to use the latest generation, high-quality 3D Vectra-Precision Light System. Only with this device can precise measurements be taken.
