There are different surgical methods. The usual terms such as breast augmentation and breast lift are somewhat misleading in this context. Women do not necessarily want to have larger breasts after pregnancy, but rather restore their pre-pregnancy state, i.e. to simply ‘refill’ the breasts so that they look fuller again.
Depending on the state of the breast after pregnancy, the solution for these cases are very individual.
In many cases, breast augmentation with implants can restore lost volume. This also returns the nipple to the correct position, makes the skin firmer and improves the fullness of the breasts. In these cases, it is often not necessary to use large implants, but rather just the right shape and volume.
Sometimes lipofilling is sufficient to fill the décolleté area to compensate for the resulting emptiness in the upper area.
However, if the breast is very low, the lifting effect of an implant is not sufficient. In these cases, a breast lift is required to improve the shape of the breasts.
If the volume loss and excess skin are significant, a combination of lifting with implant augmentation or lipofilling may be the best solution.
These treatments require a great deal of experience and planning on the part of the surgeon. We recommend a detailed and individual consultation to find the best solution for the patient.
