If back or neck pain is caused by the strain of large, heavy breasts, many patients report a significant improvement in their symptoms immediately after the operation. However, since back and neck pain can also exist independently of the breast size, it is not possible to make a prognosis in this regard. However, experience shows that breast reduction leads to relief in most cases of back pain
In addition to the risks associated with any operation, a breast reduction can cause circulatory problems in the nipples, which can lead to loss of pigmentation or scars. Only rarely do severe circulatory disorders of the breast tissue or nipples occur, which can result in tissue loss. In rare cases, a permanent reduction in sensation in the breast or nipples may also remain.
Nerves can regenerate slowly. As a rule, the sensation therefore returns within one to two years. However, the extent of regeneration varies and also depends on age. Permanent sensitivity disorders are therefore possible.
Decisive for the indication are the complaints and symptoms, not the breast size.
No, breast reduction is possible at any age. Excessive breast growth can occur as early as puberty and cause corresponding discomfort. On the other hand, excessively large and heavy breasts can also lead to back and neck pain at an advanced age.
During a breast reduction, the nipple is not completely removed, but the excess fat and glandular tissue is removed and thus damaged. The ability to breastfeed can therefore be impaired by such an operation.
The 3D visualization computer needs various points on the ribcage to be able to calculate the simulation of the breast. Example points are the nipple, the edge of the areola, the boundary of the breast in the middle, on the outside and in the area of the underbust fold. However, the point in the area of the underbust crease is not visible with sagging and/or large breasts, which is why the simulation calculation cannot be carried out.
In principle, I will be unable to work for approx. 4 days, but this may be longer depending on the activity.
