Treatment by Dr. med. Rosmarie Adelsberger
I gave the breast operation a lot of thought. I have suffered from having large breasts for years. I spent two years reading reports and comparing offers. In the end, the pressure of suffering decided. Once again, I saw a photo of myself climbing and realized: I don't want to struggle like this anymore. I want to reduce the size of my breasts.
I had a lot of questions: At my age (60), is it still appropriate to risk such an operation, which is not absolutely necessary? Can I bear to do without sport and can I take it easy enough? What impact will this have on me?
They have always been a hindrance to me when doing sport. The flabbier they got with age, the worse the feeling became. Even with a supportive bra, it wasn't good. My appearance bothered me a lot. So, in order not to emphasize my breasts even more, I no longer adopted a straight posture and started to have tension and back pain as a result.
I don't really like the answers with "I should have". In hindsight, I tell myself that a breast reduction would have helped me a lot sooner. There is also a little regret that I only did it now. But at the same time, I think it's important that I took enough time. I used to have a very stressful job and the whole thing could have been a time and emotional debacle back then. Today, I was able to enter and decide calmly. Now it only feels positive. I think that's important.
I chose Breast Atelier because of the proximity and because with the fixed price I could be sure that the price wouldn't suddenly explode if complications arose. Health was risk enough for me, because not everything can be planned. I was soon given a consultation appointment and that convinced me.
I was briefly and clearly informed about the possibilities and risks and was shown pictures of what the breast could look like afterwards. This gave me an idea of what could work perfectly. It made me want to live even more freely in the future, because that's what it really means now that I can go ski touring again 4 months later (I did my first easy tour after 2 months) and can now also climb without restrictions.
I had no problems with it as an outpatient procedure. I was well looked after and supported. Ms. Dr. Adelsberger measured and operated very well. I am very satisfied with the result.
That was very pleasant. If I had been asked, that's exactly what I would have wanted. I didn't think it actually existed and was happily surprised that I could go to a female doctor. When I saw on the operating table that only women were responsible for me, I found it extremely comforting. I was really happy.
I belong to a generation that was looking for this years ago. This question makes me realize that all the treatments, check-ups and operations I have had because of my female organs have only ever been carried out by women. That's a nice feeling.
Only the nails turn red due to the physical exertion and still need special care and rest periods so that there is no inflammation. It takes time; perhaps even a little longer than expected until everything is back to normal, but it was 100% worth it. It's a wonderful new feeling of life.
And the pain? It has the good quality of being quickly forgotten as soon as it's gone. I remember the first few days as difficult and I was glad that I had taken a week's vacation. Every movement hurt because the nipples are very extensive when they are moved. I'm not so sensitive to pain that it would have been unbearable, so I didn't have to take all the prescribed medication. But it was good that I had to rest and lie down a lot and not do any work.
I wish everyone who decides to have one the same good experience that I had.
We have asked our patients to describe their experiences regarding the consultation at the Breast Atelier, the operation, the pain and the recovery time here. Here you will find further reports from various women who had different reasons for a breast reduction.

I was turned away from another clinic because a second operation was not possible. I then came across Breast Atelier on the Internet. The positive testimonials persuaded me to make an appointment. After all, I had nothing to lose.

My bust size had been too big since puberty, which had a major impact on my self-confidence. I often felt very uncomfortable. Taking and stopping the pill (after a few years) changed my breasts. They didn't have a nice shape and didn't fit my body size proportionally.

For many years, I had been concerned about my "too big" breasts. Apart from the fact that I always felt ashamed in public and never really found bras or tops that fit, the discomfort also increased with age. The back and neck pain got worse and worse.
