Breast augmentation with autologous fat

Breast augmentation with autologous fat has both advantages and various disadvantages. One advantage is that there are almost no scars, as the autologous fat is injected in small amounts. In addition, no foreign body is inserted and the breast feels very natural.

However, the breast can become a maximum of half a cup larger after treatment with autologous fat. If a enlargement of more than one cup size is desired, 2-3 operations are required to gradually achieve the goal. The fat is partially absorbed (about 40%), so you always have to make some corrections to achieve the desired size. The method is also not suitable for very slim patients, as there are not enough fat deposits on the buttocks, stomach or legs that can be suctioned out.

Autologous fat vs. silicone implants

A comparison of the two surgical methods shows that, in contrast to breast augmentation with autologous fat, augmentation with implants is one of the best-researched surgical methods. The implants used today are high-tech products of the highest quality - there is no more leakage and the implant can remain in the body for a lifetime without any problems or harmful consequences. The manufacturers even give a lifetime guarantee on many product features!

If performed correctly, augmentation with autologous fat is also a very safe surgical method. However, as many patients either have little of their own fat or want a larger change than is possible with the existing fat, augmentation with autologous fat is only an option in rare cases.

Combination procedure with implants and autologous fat

Breast augmentation with autologous fat and implants can achieve very natural results

.

These combination procedures are being used more and more frequently because the breast volume and shape can be altered specifically and individually. The implant is used to increase the volume. Existing asymmetries can be compensated for very precisely with the autologous fat. In addition, the autologous fat makes the skin softer and thicker, which means that the implant can be better covered. Particularly in thin women with little existing breast tissue, for example, the visibility of unattractive implant edges can be prevented.

In most cases, the upper part of the implant is covered by the muscle (method: insertion of the implant under the pectoral muscle).

There is often little autologous tissue in the lower area of the breast crease. As a result, the implant is sometimes noticeable or even visible. Through the targeted use of autologous fat, these areas can be retouched by thickening and a very natural result can be achieved. Only a small amount of fat is required for this method. It is therefore also possible and helpful for slim patients. The body's own fat is harvested from fat deposits, washed and specially prepared and injected into the surgical area after the implants have been inserted. An often appreciated side effect is that bulky fat deposits (such as on the abdomen, flanks, outer thighs, etc.) are suctioned out, which also improves the contour. Such an operation takes about 2 hours and costs CHF 12,400.

We would be happy to advise you in detail about such a combination procedure.
