The long-awaited wish and my choice of clinic

I had been considering a breast reduction for many years, but never dared to go through with it. Even as a young girl I had very large breasts and the volume increased more and more during the menopause.

At the end of summer 2021, the back pain got worse and worse and it was clear to me. Something had to change. I did a lot of research on the Internet. I read testimonials and studied doctors' CVs. I kept coming back to the Breast Atelier.

Then it was clear. THIS is my clinic. Now it couldn't go fast enough. I immediately booked a consultation appointment and received it within a very short time. I was allowed to travel to Zurich at the beginning of September. My anticipation was huge.

My consultation appointment and how I felt afterwards

I received a warm welcome at the Breast Atelier. I liked the calm and competent manner of Dr. Waughlock. He measured me, explained the procedure and answered my questions. I felt very well looked after and understood, so I booked the appointment for the operation straight after the consultation.

I was already wallowing in happiness after the consultation. On the way home, I passed a lingerie store and looked at the display. There it was, the thought: «You can shop there in the future!»

That triggered something in me. It's not just the new lingerie: I can finally do all kinds of sports again. I can dance again without my dance partner unintentionally touching my chest every time I turn. I can romp around with my grandchildren again. People's eyes no longer linger on my cleavage, but on my face and so much more. That's when I really realized how much I had suffered in recent years.

The day of the operation

My excitement about the change was so great that I was very calm and relaxed. I went to the Pyramid Clinic in the morning and was given a very warm welcome. After a short preliminary talk with Dr. Waughlock, the time had come. I was allowed to walk into the operating theater myself, then everything went very quickly.

After the operation

When I woke up, I couldn't believe that my breast reduction was already done. My first look was straight down: I really liked what I saw, or rather what I no longer saw.

The first night after the operation I couldn't sleep at all, I was so excited, but I was also in pain. That night, I used up all the painkillers. However, the pain quickly subsided. Nevertheless, I was glad that I had planned another 10 days' vacation after the operation. I wore the compression bra consistently. It wasn't entirely comfortable at first, but it was worth it.

The follow-up checks were partly by email. As I don't live near the clinic, it was easier for me to take photos of my breasts and scars and send the pictures to Dr. Waughlock by email. This was very convenient for me. We then communicated by email or phone and discussed the next steps.

The back pain was gone just a few days after the operation. I felt and still feel relieved, younger and much freer. It was definitely the right decision for me. I am super happy with the result.
